Bearden High School Robotics Team

Ex 4This year, Cannon & Cannon had the honor of being a sponsor of the Bearden High School Robotics Team, also known as R.A.T.C.H.E.T. — Robotics Assembly┬áTeam Creating Hugely Exciting Technology. The R.A.T.C.H.E.T. team was officially formed in August 2014.

Their team competes in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) program (you may have seen us share a link about this on our Facebook page).

You can learn more about the R.A.T.C.H.E.T. team by visiting their website here, or checking out their Facebook page here.

We could tell you about their great accomplishments this year, but we think this wonderful letter from the team says it all:

Ex 2“From all of us here at the Bearden FRC Robotics Team, we would like to say thank you for your generous sponsorship. It has proved to be a driving factor behind our massive success this year! Thanks to your kind donation, we were able to build two fully functioning robots in order to maximize practice time and avoid faulty parts. Also, we did not have to sacrifice any necessary mechanical purchases in lieu of cheaper options.

At competition, thanks to the dependability of the robot and the team’s composed appearance, we performed extremely well! The judges noted our team’s unity, sound business plan, and extremely competent engineering. We competed in the playoffs and were eliminated in the quarterfinals, but we received the Rookie All-Star Award which identifies the best first year team which fully embodies the spirit of the competition. With this award, we received a ticket to World Championships in St. Louis! At this competition, we competed with over 600 of the best teams in the world! We even advanced to divisional semi-finals! This achievement placed us as the third highest rookie team in the entire world!”

We are thrilled that the R.A.T.C.H.E.T. team has had so much success this year! The team also sent us some notable photos from the year, which we have included in this post.
