Project Description:

Site and utility layout and design services were performed for this new Knox County Elementary School located in the Gibbs community.  Site layout efforts included interaction with the project architect in determining the appropriate building config-uration and orientation to satisfy issues such as appropriate roadway access points and site specific wetland issues.  Design efforts were especially challenging in relation to on-site traffic flow, parking lot configuration, and general site grading to meet topographic constraints.  The project also included a traffic evaluation to access turn lane needs and the proper location of the primary site access point on the adjacent State Highway 131, as well as design services for the necessary turn lane and intersection improvements.
