Water

Client: Knoxville Utilities Board
Location: Cherokee Boulevard - Knoxville, TN |
Project Description:
Understanding the importance for careful planning and design, Knoxville Utilities Board enlisted the assistance of CCI engineers to replace approximately 8,000 linear feet of cast iron water mains from the 1930’s and replace approximately one mile of street lighting and underground wire in this upscale residential area along the Tennessee River.
The project involved extensive use of directional boring to minimize disruption in the neighborhood along with the use of High Density Polyethylene water mains as an alternative material. The project involved review of existing service line materials and replacement of over 80% of the existing meter services with new copper lines. Coordination of the project required construction lapses during several festival periods planned for the area.
