Electric

Client: Knoxville Utilities Board
Location: Knoxville, TN
|
Project Description:
After receiving requests from local residents concerning their electric supply lines, Knoxville Utilities Board enlisted the assistance of CCI engineers to convert approximately 2900 feet of single phase overhead distribution to underground residential distribution (URD) in an upscale residential area along the Tennessee River. The existing lines are located in highly wooded areas along backlot lines and steep grade changes from the front of the lots. In addition, KUB operates an 8” cast iron water main along Cheowa Circle and Bluff Drive, in existence since 1925. The overall project will involve placing the URD route along the road right of way, while also upgrading the water main to PVC, thereby providing more reliable facilities which are easier to maintain.
