Project manager/senior project manager

Cannon & Cannon, Inc. (CCI), one of the Southeast’s most trusted, experienced and nationally recognized engineering and consulting companies, is seeking an honest, capable and uniquely qualified Project Manager/Senior Project Manager candidate to join our Community Development group.

For this position, we seek a multi-disciplined individual capable of designing public works, private and industrial/institutional site development projects. A focus on client relationships is foundational.

Position Requirements

This position reports to the Community Development Group Director and requires, as a minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited school and 7 years’ experience. PE (Professional Engineer) registration with the State of Tennessee or Kentucky or the ability to obtain within one (1) year is preferred. This position will be performed in our Knoxville office location.

 

survey CAD TECHNICIAN

Cannon & Cannon, Inc. is seeking to hire an experienced Survey CAD Technician for our Knoxville, Tennessee office.  This position requires a self-motivated individual who can assist the Senior Survey CAD Technician / RLS with various types of field surveys, downloading field information, and preparing the data for final deliverables. Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation GeoPak is a required skill for this position .  The successful candidate may be asked to periodically work in the field assisting the survey field crews. It would be advantageous for the candidate to have experience using conventional survey equipment, GPS, and robotic equipment.  Being a team player is an essential part of this person’s role at Cannon & Cannon.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

*         AAS degree in Computer Aided Design (CAD) is preferred

*         1-3 years of work experience with a progressive career track

*         Ability to work with a team of surveyors and office personnel

*         Good verbal and writing skills to communicate effectively with peers and management

RESIDENT PROJECT REPRESENTATIVE –

KNOXVILLE OFFICE CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING & INSPECTION (CEI)

Cannon & Cannon, Inc. is seeking an honest, capable and experienced (CEI) Resident Project Representative to join our Knoxville office.

Cannon & Cannon, Inc., (CCI), an independently owned company with offices in Knoxville, Memphis, and Bowling Green, KY, seeks a qualified individual for on-site project administrative operations per TDOT guidelines. This person will serve on a variety of TDOT/local government roadway and multimodal transportation projects.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The position reports to the Construction Services and Asset Management Director. The applicant should have at least five (5) years of progressive experience in TDOT managed roadway projects. Under general direction, this position is responsible for technical civil engineering work of intermediate difficulty and performs duties in the area of construction inspection, EP&SC inspection, materials sampling/testing, and project administration. This position requires specific technical certifications, or the ability to obtain such specific certifications as soon as the training opportunity is available. Nuclear density testing experience is a plus.

This position requires the astute ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse group of people; such as the general public, local businesses, property owners, contractors, and our clients. Though rare, occasional overnight travel may be required. This position will work in the Knoxville and surrounding east Tennessee region. Candidate must possess and maintain a Class D driver’s license valid to operate vehicles in the State of Tennessee.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Knowledge of roadway asphalt pavement construction
  • Knowledge of roadway construction methods and materials
  • Knowledge of concrete construction
  • Knowledge of roadway drainage features
  • Basic knowledge of roadway and bridge surveying
  • Knowledge of office clerical tasks including data entry and form completion (written or electronic)
  • Intermediate skill of mathematics (arithmetic and geometry)
  • Knowledge of work zone traffic control per MUTCD standards
  • Knowledge of roadway construction plans
  • Knowledge of TDOT material sampling and testing per TDOT SOP’s
  • Knowledge of TDEC EP&SC inspection requirements

Certifications:

  • TDOT Asphalt Roadway Technician
  • TDOT Soils & Aggregate Certified Technician
  • TDOT Concrete Field Certified Technician (or ACI Grade 1 equivalent)
  • TDOT Chapter 8 Local Government Guidelines Manual Training
  • OSHA 10 Hour Training Course
  • TDEC EP&SC Inspection – Level 1
  • Work Zone Traffic Control/Flagging
